Recognition Payments

The Métis National Council (MNC) is committed to keeping the memory of the achievements of Métis Veterans and their sacrifices alive for the Métis Nation and for all Canadians. The Métis Veterans Legacy Program (MVLP) recognizes the systemic discrimination experienced by Second World War Métis Veterans by Veterans Affairs Canada, as they did not receive the same support, resources or benefits promised to them that non-Métis service members enjoyed.

To honour and acknowledge their bravery and sacrifice, the MVLP will provide for qualified Second World War Veterans to receive compensation in the form of Recognition payments for their pre and post-war experiences.

Please fill out the Métis Recognition Payment Submission Form below if you believe you or a loved one may qualify for the Recognition Payment.
